About Festival

The International Jazz Festival is Prague`s musical and cultural event, that continues after 2 years break with the 33rd annual issue. During the 15 festival evenings inbetween 13th and 27th October the audience have a chance to witness incredible jazz diversity. All the concerts will take part in the legendary Reduta jazz club, where beside the more traditional jazz performances are various bands going to impress with combining jazz and other musical styles such as classical music, gospel, painting art compositions and many others. Another festival variety will be in the age structure of the performing musicians. The festival spectators are going to be amused by young talented jazz artists as well as by the most experienced jazz legends.

The goal of this years volume is to allow the spectators the imminent approach with the music production, which is implemented by the Reduta jazz club itself. In the line-up of the 33rd International Jazz Festival you can find names such as East West European Jazz Orchestra, Chicago gospel singer Brian Fentress or Serbian Trio Balkan Strings lead by Zoran Starcevic. The most famous Czech musician performing during the festival are Milan Svoboda and Emil Viklický. The festival`s aftermath is going to take part on 2nd November with a performance of another very interesting project called Brink Man Ship, whose members combine jazz with electronic music.

The International Jazz Festival Praha is the oldest music festival in Czech and regarding its history also one of the oldest and most traditional one in Europe.
